At Paradigm this Christmas, will be giving back to those most in need by donating food supplies to our local foodbanks, in a bid to stop UK hunger and we would love for you to get involved!

We will be doing a Reverse Advent calendar, which works by (if you’re able) adding an item to a box or bag every day with items of food that can then be taken to a food bank to help those less fortunate that are struggling at Christmas time. We have chosen to support The Trussell Trust which is the only nationwide network of foodbanks which provides emergency food and support to people in crisis.

Why help Paradigm give to The Trussell Trust this Christmas?

Over thirteen million people live below the poverty line in the UK, with individuals going hungry every day. This time of year can be especially difficult for families and individuals who are already managing on extremely tight budgets, so the food YOU donate is used by The Trussell Trust to support people who are struggling to put food on the table this Christmas. All of the food donated is used locally and is an invaluable boost to foodbanks’ stocks at a time of year that is always extremely busy and when demand for emergency food is so high. Such a small donation from you, will make sure a big difference to those in need this Christmastime!

What can YOU do to help?

We would love for you to get involved and take this same idea and implement it at your office too! Get your team involved by encouraging them to donate non-perishable food items including tinned meat, tinned fruit, tinned fish, biscuits or snack bars, baked beans, tinned vegetables, sugar, cartons of fruit juice, tinned soup, pasta sauces, tinned sponge puddings, tinned tomatoes, cereals, tinned rice puddings, custard, tea bags, instant coffee and pasta to your nearest foodbank or send it to the Paradigm offices. Once you have donated, we would love to hear from you with photos, details of how much you have managed to collect and also get involved online using our hashtag, #ParadigmHelpFightHunger to show everyone else too!

With over 1,290 member firms we believe that we can make a real difference this year if we all get involved.

We will be happy to accept donations throughout December and we will be taking all donations to our nearest foodbank on the 20th December.

As a nation we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute – illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job could happen to any of us, and we owe it to each other to make sure sufficient financial support is in place when we need it most. It’s hard to break free from hunger if there isn’t enough money coming in to cover the rising cost of absolute essentials like food and housing. For too many people staying above water is a daily struggle. It’s completely unacceptable that anyone is forced to turn to a foodbank as a result.”
