At Paradigm this Christmas, we will again be giving back to those most in need by donating food supplies to our local foodbanks, in a bid to stop UK hunger and we would love for you to get involved!

We will be doing a Reverse Advent calendar, which works by (if you’re able) adding an item to a box or bag every day with items of food, that can then be taken to a food bank to help those less fortunate that are struggling at Christmastime. We are supporting The Trussell Trust, the only nationwide network of foodbanks providing emergency food and support to people in crisis.

Why help Paradigm give to The Trussell Trust this Christmas?

Over fourteen million people live below the poverty line in the UK, with individuals going hungry every day. This time of year can be especially difficult for families and individuals who are already struggling on extremely tight budgets- the food YOU donate is used by The Trussell Trust to support these people and put food on their table at Christmas. All the food donated is used locally and is an invaluable boost to foodbanks’ stocks when demand for emergency food is so high. Such a small donation from you, will make sure a big difference to those in need this Christmastime!

What can YOU do to help?

We would love for you to get involved and take this same idea and implement it at your office too! Get your team involved by encouraging them to donate non-perishable food items including tinned meat, tinned fruits and vegetables, tinned fish, biscuits or snack bars, fruit juice/cordial, pasta sauces, tinned sponge puddings, tinned tomatoes, cereals, custard, tea/coffee and pasta/rice etc. to your nearest foodbank or send it to the Paradigm offices. Once you have donated, we would love to hear from you with photos, details of how much you have managed to collect and also get involved online using our hashtag, #ParadigmHelpFightHunger to encourage others to aswell!

With over 1,400 member firms we believe that we can make a real difference this year if we all get involved.

The Trussell Trust has a network of over 1200 foodbanks, find your nearest drop off point here! Alternatively, we will be happy to accept donations to the Paradigm office throughout December, as we will be taking all donations to our nearest foodbank on the 20th December. Please send them to the following address:

As a nation we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute – illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job could happen to any of us, and we owe it to each other to make sure sufficient financial support is in place when we need it most. It’s hard to break free from hunger if there isn’t enough money coming in to cover the rising cost of absolute essentials like food and housing. For too many people staying above water is a daily struggle. It’s completely unacceptable that anyone is forced to turn to a foodbank as a result.”
